Safety Briefing

Nelson and Tasman Bay have some of the best sailing waters in the country. It can be a challenging venue to sail from, with strong tides, a busy commercial fishing and container port. We have a good relationship with Port Nelson Limited and the NCC Harbourmaster and we’d like to keep it that way!

Please watch the Safety Briefing video. You will be asked to confirm that you have watched it when completing a Safety Checklist at registration.

More information on the sailing waters, including the local Navigation Safety Bylaw, live weather reporting and webcams can be found here: Location & Sailing Waters

Accommodation at Fell House:

Nelson College has a boarding house called Fell House available for groups throughout the year. The catering option has changed and is no longer available during the holidays (10th Dec – 1st Feb). The accommodation has the basics – microwave, electric jug and fridge, but no meaningful cooking facilities.
