The Aurora Lounge offers a spacious, light-filled venue with sweeping views across Nelson Harbour — from Tāhunanui Beach to the iconic Boulder Bank Lighthouse. With its elevated position and generous balcony, it’s a stunning backdrop for both ceremonies and receptions.
The space is flexible and easy to personalise, allowing you to create a wedding that feels completely your own.
The Big Weekend
The Aurora Lounge offers a 48 hr weekend hire, giving you the time and flexibility to plan your day without pressure.
Set up at your own pace, celebrate fully, and return the next day to pack down – or even host a relaxed post wedding brunch.
This extended hire makes the entire experience more enjoyable and far less rushed.
The 2026-27 season cost is $1800 incl. GST.
What’s included
The venue is hired as a bare space, giving you full creative control.
Included in your hire:
- 115 padded chairs
- 13x round tables (8-10 guests)
- 12x rectangular tables (6 guests)
For weddings up to 115 guests, you’ll simply need to arrange styling elements chair coverings, table linen and décor.
Larger weddings, of up to 140 people can be accommodated with additional hire seating.
Catering & Event Support
Nourish Catering, led by Chanté Whitehouse, is based on-site and offers beautifully presented, seasonal menus tailored to your day.
From relaxed grazing tables and shared-style dining through to more formal plated meals, the team can create a catering experience that reflects your style and vision.
For couples wanting a more seamless experience, Nourish can also assist with a fully tailored, ‘walk in, walk out’ event, coordinating the details so you can focus on enjoying the day.
We can also connect couples with trusted local suppliers for styling, bar services, and event support.
Affordable Wedding Venue Hire
Finding an affordable wedding venue can be a challenge. As an unlicensed venue, you have the option to organise your own BYO bar for private functions in the Aurora Lounge.
As well as the full weekend, the space can be hired for a single day, with more affordable rates available for Fridays, Sundays and off-season months (May-September).
