One of the advantages of the Aurora Lounge as an event venue is that you hire a relatively blank canvas that allows you to bring your own creativeness and flair to styling your event. Or, bring in the experts and let them do the heavy lifting!

Catering & Tailored Events

We are so lucky to have Chanté and the Nourish Catering team based in the Aurora Lounge delivering fresh, wholesome and creative food that delights both the eye and the taste buds.

Nourish Catering & Events can also provide more of a ‘walk in, walk out’ or ‘tailored event’ package, looking after everything from table cloths and chair covers, visual styling, bar staff, to venue set-up and pack-down.

Event Styling & Equipment Hire

An event partner who knows the venue is worth every cent.

Pete and the team at Got It Covered, are our go-to for everything from chair covers and table cloths through to festoon lights, large props  and full event design.

Bar Service & Event Management

One of the advantages of the Aurora Lounge as a venue for private functions is that it is unlicensed and you are not ‘tied-in’ to an expensive bar service. Being able to do BYO can be big cost saver.

However, this does not suit all events. If you are wanting a cash bar, or to include alcoholic drinks within a ticket price, you will need to arrange a Special Licence, and have a licensed Bar Manager. You can take care of this yourself, but Shelley and the team from Nelson Venues & Events can look after everything including licensing, stocking and staffing the bar. They’ve got plenty of experience at the venue, and are also one of Nelson’s premier event management companies.

Photography

A wedding photographer is possibly next on the list after securing your venue. A good photographer will capture the moments that will become memories and last your lifetimes.

Not only does the Aurora Lounge provide a stunning backdrop, but it is well located for you to capture uniquely Nelson wedding photos. For example, catching The Nelson Ferry across to the iconic Boulder Bank Lighthouse like this shot from Ray Salisbury of Moving Moments.

Other more easily accessible options include the rocks on Rocks Road, the Seafarer’s Memorial, and views from the Queens Road Reserve.

Audio & Visual Hire

We have a Basic AV package that includes a data projector, screen, microphone with stand and speaker, and a couple of whiteboards/flip-chart easels. This is an extra at $150 per day incl. GST.

However, for more professional set-ups, large format TV screens, PA systems, etc… we can connect you with local AV specialists.

You can even solve any potential late night noise issues with a silent disco!
